THE BUSY BEES

The Busy Bee program is designed for campers age three to five. In school age terms, these groups are for children entering a 3 year old pre-school classroom, up to entering kindergarten. Our camp day consists of seven periods, all lead by both trained specialists, as well as bunk counselors. The Program director is Anne Witkin, a mother of three, and a 1st grade reading teacher in the Council Rock School District. Anne�s senior staff is a nurturing group of individuals all trained and experienced for this specific age group. The counselors are right on the money when it comes to the developmental needs of pre-school age children. The Busy Bee program is the very foundation for the continued scaffolding that follows for the many years of camping. Busy Bee�s may be small in size, but their experiences here at camp are quite large. Our littlest campers participate in many sports events including our excellent swim instruction, drama productions, specialized parties and other enriching events. �Many a friend� here at Briarwood has been made at age three, and has continued into adulthood. There is not a finer Pre-School aged camp program in Bucks County than our Busy Bee�s.

CITs (COUNSELORS IN TRAINING)

• In the CIT Program, your child will...
• Learn how to assist counselors while working with younger children.
• Participate in their own specially designed program in P.M.
• Day trips throughout the summer.
• Optional overnight excursion.

BEFORE & AFTER CARE

• Information on our Before and After Care...
• Before and after care is available from 7:45am to 6pm
• Activities include swimming, arts and crafts, and sports
• Experienced counselors
• Small fee

LUNCHES AT BRIARWOOD

• Briarwood's Lunch Program Offers...
• A varied menu ensures that healthy appetites are adequately satisfied.
• Hot meals four days a week.
• Fruit every day.
• Chef and facilities are certified by the Board of Health.
• Special diet needs are accommodated.
• Afternoon snacks are provided daily.

TRANSPORTATION

• Provided to and from camp either by car or van, driven by appropriately licensed drivers.
• Door to door pickup will be arranged if possible.
• Our 1/2 day program is with transportation to camp only.
• Our extended care programs are without transportation.

CAMP INFIRMARY

• About the Briarwood Nurses' Office...
• Our nurse is an emergency room registered nurse. She is on duty every day in our infirmary.
• Health forms for all campers are required.
• Dispensing of medication is only permitted by our nurse.
